What is Gear Consignment?

Consignment is a mutually beneficial partnership between you and our store. You bring your used Motorcycle or Kart gear or parts to 2nd Gear USA and we sell it on your behalf, splitting the profits with you. Our team of industry professionals will establish a fair selling price for your gear, photograph them, market them, and then write you a check or credit your account with store credit once the item sells. If your items don't sell, consignors are welcome to pick them up within 150 days at no charge. Consignors receive 50% of what their items sell for in cash, or 60% in store credit.We accept consignment Gear all year long here in Sunny Arizona!

What 2nd Gear USA will accept for consignment:

• 2nd Gear USA sells Motorcycle and Karting gear, parts, apparel, and accessories. We focus on the items you need to get outside and ride or race Motorcycles & Karts 
• The brands we accept on consignment are the high quality brands you would find at any major Motorcycle retailer like Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda, and Harley Davidson. Also Kart retailers like, Tony Kart, Biesse, CRG.
• All items that are accepted for consignment must be clean (no dirt, no pet hair, no bad odors or bodily fluids) and must be fully operational.

What 2nd Gear USA will NOT accept for consignment:

• Stolen goods
• Parts for ATV's, Side by Sides or Snowmobiles.
• Used tires
• Used under gear like padded shorts
• Used electronic devices (handheld stop watches, watches, Fitbits, GPS units.

Gear Consignment  Policies

Consignors can sell items for cash or store credit. 2nd Gear USA sends checks to consignors each month for any items sold for “cash” in the previous month. The store will attempt to mail all consignment checks by the 11th of the month. Consignors selling items for store credit are credited 48 hours after an item sells. Consignors may stop by the store, or call for your credit balance.

Consignment Rates

Consignors receive 50% of an item’s selling price if receiving cash and 60% of an item’s selling price if receiving store credit.

Pricing & Monthly Discounts

Selling price is initially determined by 2nd Gear USA with input from the consignor.  Typically we price items 30 to 50% below their retail value depending on their condition, although pricing may vary. On the first of the month the selling price of consigned items are discounted by the following amounts: 0% during the first month or portion thereof, 10% during the second month, 25% during the third month and 50% during the fourth month. 2nd Gear USA reserves the right to reduce prices further for sales or other promotions. 

 Any consigned item left on the sales floor or posted on 2nd Gear USA websites for more than 150 days becomes property of 2nd Gear USA. It is the responsibility of the consignor to contact 2nd Gear USA and retrieve unsold merchandise before 150 days have expired, as consignors will not be notified as the expiration date nears.

Additional Policies

Items for sale at 2nd Gear USA are the consignor’s until they sell or 150 days has expired. A consignor may also retrieve an item at any time. 2nd Gear USA may ask the consignor to retrieve any unsold items at any time. If the consignor fails to respond to 2nd Gear USA’s request to retrieve unsold items within 14 days, then the consigned items will become the property of 2nd Gear USA and may be donated by 2nd Gear USA to our choice of a local nonprofit organization.

2nd Gear USA allows returns on consigned items purchadsed within a 48-hour period after purchase. Once an item has sold, it will enter a 48-hour “return period” to allow for returns. If the item is not returned, you will receive your portion of payment once the return period has ended. If the item is returned within 48 hours, it will appear back on your account and be available for sale once again.
